O you who believe! Obey All‚h and obey the Messenger, and those of you who are in authority. If you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to All‚h and His Messenger, if you believe in All‚h and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination. Qur'an (4:59)
Unity Between Sunni and Shi'a
The question of unity between sunni schools of thought and shia schools of thought has been debated for centuries. Slander, hate-crimes, wars, and many other extreme measures have often taken precedence over intelligent discussion and dialogue. We hope, insha'Allah, to get to the reasons behind this and also answer many of the questions regarding the sunni/shia split. Furthermore, we hope to educate Muslims and non-muslims alike to an understanding of why these groups should unite.
In 1982 Sheikh Ahmed Deedat gave a speech about Iran and stressed unity between sunni and shia Muslims. Transcript and Audio of Speech
