Shaykh Ahmad Al Baki
(Shaykh Ahmad Bamba Mbacke) 1853-1927
Centennial Celebration (Nov.11, 1902 -Nov.11,
2003)
From a ndigal (divine order) emanating from
Serigne Touba Saliou Mbacke, Shaykh Moustapha Mbacke "Gainde Fatma"
is launching the celebration of the Centennial of Shaykh Ahmad Al Baki, most
commonly known as Shaykh Ahmad Bamba
Mbacke.
This celebration marks the triumphant return of
Shaykh Ahmad Bamba from French colonial exile. Using Islam Al
Muridiyya with spiritual, religious, cultural and non-violent means,
Bamba is the only freedom fighter among eighty-three West African
leaders to survive and overcome French deportation and
exile. That made Ahmad Bamba the most powerful and most
respected African leader to peacefully rescue his people from
slavery and colonization; as well as from Arab and European
cultural assimilation.
Join the Khidmatul Khadim Global Daahira and the Murid community worldwide in celebrating this very
important event for the African and Muslim
worlds.

Celebrating Over
One Hundred Years of Murid Islamic
Scholarship!
Assalamu Halaykum,
Back in 1984, we were blessed to have an audience with Shaykh
Abdul Ahad Mbacke, former Khalif General of the Murid community, and
fifth oldest son of Shaykh Ahmad Bamba Mbacke. He handed to us the
"Massalik-Al-Jinaan", pathways to paradise, written by his father at
the age of fifteen years of age. He thus ordained us to translate a
selective group of works by
the Shaykh.
Since then, the above
mentioned work as well as others have been completed though not
published. Without Shaykh Abdul Ahad Mbacke, who understood the need
for the public to gain access to some of the treasures left by his
father, some writings of the Shaykh
would not have been available in English.
May Allah reward him
endlessly and shower him and his late brothers with
grace.
Wa Salaam,
Shaykh Moustapha
Mbacke,
Great-grandson
of Shaykh Ahmad Bamba,
Murid Scholar and Author
